This RKI course is designed to equip workers with the knowledge and practical skills needed to identify, monitor, and respond to hazardous gases commonly encountered in water and wastewater treatment facilities. Participants will gain an understanding of the types of gases present in these environments, their potential health and safety impacts, and the regulatory and safety considerations associated with gas detection and monitoring.
The course covers the proper selection, operation, and maintenance of both portable and fixed gas detection equipment, with emphasis on real-world applications. Instruction includes gas monitoring techniques for confined spaces, open-air environments, perimeter monitoring, and equipment inspection and continuous monitoring. Participants will learn how to interpret instrument readings, recognize alarm conditions, and take appropriate corrective actions to protect personnel and facility operations.
