The RKI Service and Repair Technician Certification course hosted at RKI’s Gulf Coast location in Deer Park, TX is an in-depth, hands-on technical training program designed to qualify technicians to inspect, diagnose, service, calibrate, and repair RKI Instruments’ portable gas detection systems. Upon successful completion, participants will be certified to perform authorized service and repair work in accordance with RKI standards and manufacturer specifications.

This course provides a comprehensive understanding of gas detection system architecture, sensor technologies, electronics, firmware, and mechanical assemblies across RKI’s product portfolio. Technicians will gain practical experience working with both portable multi-gas monitors, and associated peripherals.

• SC-04 & 04 Series
• GX-3R
• GX-3R Pro
• GX-2012
• GX-Force
• GX-6000
• EAGLE
• EAGLE 2

Each student will get valuable hands-on training on basic repairs and troubleshooting techniques with the instruments listed above.

Individual, hands-on exercises instruction including:

• Basic instrument operation
• Calibration
• Instrument programming and setup
• Sensor scrubber replacement
• Pump replacement and sample system maintenance
• Battery maintenance and replacement
• PCB replacement
• Setup of critical voltages and settings
• Basic system troubleshooting
• Review of sensor operation for combustible gas, oxygen, and toxic gas sensors
• Discussion of sensor date codes and recommendations for sensor replacement

What are my responsibilities?

• You are responsible for your travel, hotel, ground transportation, and any other related expenses.
