Mid Atlantic Regional Sales Representative

RKI Instruments, Inc., an innovative gas detection company located in Union City, CA is seeking an outgoing person with a strong sales background and excellent communication skills to work in a fast paced demanding environment.

Position Overview:

  • Regional sales management for Mid-Atlantic Region (There will be a map included in the ad to show your territory)
  • Manage and maintain current distributors and customers
  • Monitor and grow territory
  • Work primarily through distribution
  • Develop and maintain key accounts
  • Broad diversification of industries
  • Excellent sales lead generating system provides sales team high quality prospects
  • Function with a high degree of autonomy
  • 75% of time will be travel

Assistant Service Administrator

Job Description:

  • The Assistant Service Administrator will assist the Senior Service Administrator in all current functions that pertain to supporting RKI Instruments repair and field service operations.
  • The Assistant Service Administrator is responsible for the receiving, logging and tagging of materials returned for repair; including items returned for warranty and standard repair. The Assistant Service Administrator will add new customers to Qube, create Service Work Orders (SWO’s), pulls parts required for repairs, creating Repair Estimates, contacting customers following up on repair estimates, invoicing domestic and international repairs, invoice customer for Field Service work and training. Work directly with drop-in repair customers.
  • The Assistant Service Administrator will report to the Technical Services Manager, but receive instructions as required from the Senior Service Administrator.

Job Requirements:

  • High school education plus a minimum of 3 years background in Customer Service required. Must be able to communicate clearly in both oral and written English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook required. Ability to work with Windows or Mac OS operating systems.

Senior Assembler

RKI Instruments Inc., a growing and innovative gas detection company located in Union City is seeking a Senior Assembler to join our Production Department. This person must be a team player, willing to help wherever help is needed within the Production team. The position entails ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively. This person will be asked to undergo a background check.

Responsibilities:

  • Assembling and testing gas detectors
  • Hands-on working in Production Department as needed to meet customer requirements.
  • Assist the Manager in organizing the workflow of other employees.
  • Oversee and coach employees.
  • Identify issues in efficiency and suggest improvements.
  • Enforce safety policies and procedures (both in-house and regulatory) to decrease the potential for employee injuries on the job.
  • Ensure all resources and assets are used efficiently and correctly.
  • Ensure the safe use of equipment and schedule regular maintenance.
  • Follows Company policies and procedures.
  • Interface with all other departments as needed.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of electromechanical, PCBA, manufacturing process and assembly experience.
  • Posses applicable experience, skills, and knowledge to perform all aspects of job; rotates through all job responsibilities.
  • Works with sense of urgency to meet needs of customers.
  • Takes responsibility for actions, results, and mistakes.
  • Ability to identify issues in efficiency and suggest improvements.
  • 3+ years related experience in a supervisor position or equivalent work-related experience desired.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field a plus.

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Able to operate power tools and drill press.
  • Able to read assembly drawings and technical notes.
  • Basic Measurement and gauge use skills.
  • Good soldering skills.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Team building skills.
  • Problem solving skills using disciplined methods to identify root causes (i.e. 5 Why).
