This series of classes has been designed to meet the needs of RKI servicing distributors, RKI recognized third party service providers. Please note that these classes are not open to former servicing distributors. For end users that require service related training, please contact your authorized local RKI Distributor, your Regional Representative, or contact RKI Instruments, Inc. for assistance.
Where are classes held?
- Classes are held at RKI Instrument's corporate offices located in Union City, CA.

- Classes begin promptly at 8:30 AM each morning and
generally conclude by 4:00 PM.

How much does it cost to attend this training?
- $400.00 per student for the complete three day program. This includes lunch each day, one class dinner, your training hand-outs and certificate of participation at the conclusion of the training. Multiple students from an RKI Distributor are allowed if space permits.
What are my responsibilities?
- You are responsible for your travel, ground transportation, lodging, meals not provided by RKI Instruments, and any other related expenses.
- Please contact RKI Instruments for our corporate rates for lodging if needed.
How do I register?
- You must register on the RKI web site at www.rkiinstruments.com/enroll/
- Once your registration has been received and approved you will receive a confirmation packet.
- Registration payment will be by credit card only.
- Class size is limited so sign up soon before all seats are gone!
Certificate of Participation
Upon completion of training, each student will receive a certificate of participation for Basic Repair and Maintenance covering the instruments and sessions attended (see instruments covered below).
Portable Session Includes:
Sensor theory and operation
- Review of sensor operation for combustible gas, oxygen, and toxic gas sensors
- Discussion of sensor date codes
Individual hands-on exercises instruction including:
- Basic instrument operation
- Calibration
- Instrument programming and setup
- Sensor replacement
- Pump replacement and sample system maintenance
- Battery maintenance and replacement
- PCB replacement
- Setup of critical voltages and settings
- Basic system troubleshooting

* Service training on RKI’s new Eagle 2 will consist of the following:
- Applications
- Basic operation
- Conversion tables (LEL and PID)
- Calibration (standard 4 gas unit with PID)
- Basic user programming (sensor and channel configuration)
- Basic user maintenance including filters, pump, flow system, batteries and sensors
- Eagle 2 Data logging
Each student will be able to work directly with each instrument to hone their technical skills. If you would like to bring one of your instruments to the class to troubleshoot or use for hands-on training that would be encouraged!
Fixed Systems Session Includes:
- Anatomy of a Fixed System & Field Applications and Basic Troubleshooting
- Operation, calibration and maintenance with hands-on labs working with each instrument.

If you are responsible for quoting, installing or maintaining continuous monitoring systems, you will find this section very useful. In addition to review of each monitor, you will learn the importance of maintaining accurate calibration and service records.
